Aditya dreams of being a cricketer and a writer. At the village, he sees a photograph of Ashwini in her childhood. He realises she is Aditya's childhood friend.
Aditya's parents had promised to get him married to Ashwini and move to a different city. Aditya also knows Ashwini's parents and her elder brother. Aditya tells Ashwini his childhood love story. Ashwini's parents accept Aditya and they go back to the city where Aditya and Ashwini marry.
Aditya's parents agree to the engagement of their son to Ashwini. They also allow the wedding in an auspicious moment and they wait for Ashwini's elder brother to come to the wedding ceremony. But, Ashwini's elder brother did not turn up at the time of the wedding. Aditya's parents suspect that he has been killed for dowry. Aditya and Ashwini marry on the same day. Later, Aditya's father tells Aditya that it's Ashwini who has been chosen by god. Aditya's father also tells Ashwini that she has been chosen by god.
Aditya and Ashwini move to a new city. Aditya is also supported by his parents and Ashwini by her parents. When Aditya comes to know that he has a newborn baby, he asks Ashwini to give the child her name. Ashwini suggests the name of Aditya's childhood friend called 'Akshara'. Aditya also names his newborn baby 'Akshara' which means Aditya's childhood friend in Tamil.
Now Aditya is searching for Akshara's parents. He goes to the village where he used to stay as a child. He realises that Akshara has been adopted by a royal family from a nearby village. Aditya and Akshara goes to meet the royal family to seek their help to find Akshara's parents. Aditya tells them the story of how he lost Akshara and how he loved her for his life. Aditya and Akshara also fall in love with each other.
